The first stage of planning any wedding is to decide the season in which to hold your special day. Many things can affect your choice which you may not have considered.
The obvious choice is to go for the summer season; schools have broken up and everyone's availability is sure to be no problem.
The weather should be warm allowing you to enjoy the full benefit of Glenfall's spectacular gardens through into the late evening for photographs and fun with garden games. There's also the opportunity have some of your food courses al fresco if you wish.
However if you're planning short notice you may find some guests may have already booked their holidays which could be a shame. And don't forget it is peak season so you will need to book your suppliers nice and early!
Early summer (May/June) can see the Wisteria Avenue will be in full bloom allowing for some spectacular photographs. This is a truly spectacular scene making the Glenfall Gardens one of the most sought-after outdoor ceremony areas in Gloucestershire.
The remainder of the summer the Wisteria Avenue is a lovely mix of flowers and foliage right until the end of September. Of course we can't give you the specific dates of bloom as this varies, but this part of the garden remains a spectacular sight throughout most of the year.
Sparkling Spring Weddings
Sometimes overlooked, Spring can offer an excellent choice to many, especially with bank holidays and half terms in the mix. You may also find this to be a more cost-effective option if you're working to a budget.
With spring flowers like daffodils and tulips in season you can take a beautifully fresh approach to your bouquets, flower arrangements and table centres. Why not choose a colour scheme to pick up on these bright happy shades.
Easter also provides a good holiday break when guests can bring their children without interrupting the school calendar, and lots of Easter themed fun can be built into the outdoors.
People do worry about April showers, however they're often short and don't interrupt the day dramatically.
Colourful Autumn Weddings
Late Summer and Autumn is a beautiful time to enjoy your wedding. September and October often have lovely warm days and when the leaves start to change on the trees the views from Glenfall House turn into a pallette of Canadian colour.
If it turns a little cooler there's nothing better than cosying up around our garden log burners or relaxing roaring fires inside the house with a glass of your favourite tipple.
The rich shades will give you inspiration for your colour schemes for your wedding and also the invites.
And don't forget, a winter wedding can be a very special thing indeed. There's usually a good availability, particularly in January and February. A lot of people would welcome an opportunity to celebrate something after the madness of the Christmas break.
The weather can be milder than you may think. With crisp clear skies a celebration in the House with roaring log fires might be just the thing your friends and family would enjoy.
Of course, if it snows that's an added bonus! You could be one of the few couples who have a truly unique wedding album to show their friends and family.
Glenfall House looks spectacular in the Winter snow, something that shouldn't be missed.
